I think it sounds nice with just a downpipe. A full exhaust is a different beast altogether. For power, if you don't plan on tuning then don't waste your time with a downpipe. You're not going to notice much aside from throttle response and a deeper note/louder burbles. You don't need a tune for the downpipe and you don't need a downpipe if you're tuned. That being said, without a tune you'll get CEL and not a huge power gain with the dp.
