5700g has 8 cores on a single ccx similar to a 5700x. 8 core amd cpus have high temperature spikes - even at idle. low utilization = high boost clock on limited cores 5700g is also a 65w stock tdp, so that's probably why turning off pbo didnt help (it doesnt boost very high to begin with).
